Are pets allowed?
Yes, if they are small or medium-sized; please let us know when you are traveling with a four-legged friend. Nearby, there are large parks where they may play; 20.00 Euro may be added if “extra” cleaning work is necessary.

What is the check-in and check-out schedule?
Check-in is from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (please contact us if you must arrive after 11:00 p.m.) and check-out is by 11:00 a.m.

How can we reach the center of Volterra?
In 10 minutes by car or bus.

When arriving in Volterra, in what direction is the Hotel?
From the center of Volterra follow the road toward Pisa – Pontedera; after approximately 9 km you will find the Hotel Restaurant Molino D’Era on your right.

Where may we leave our car?
Directly in the hotel’s free parking lot.

Are there rooms with a view?
Some rooms overlook the terrace of the restaurant and the large garden; others are on the back of the building. However, we have a limited number of rooms and cannot guarantee all with garden views.

Are there rooms for non-smokers?
Yes, on request.

Are there rooms for disabled guests?
Yes, but they must be requested at the time of the reservation.

Is it possible to move about in the hotel by wheelchair?
Yes: we also have a sufficiently large elevator and doors tot allow moving about freely in a wheelchair.

Is it possible to send a fax from the Hotel?
Yes, the reception staff is available to send your fax.

Is an internet connection available in the Hotel?
Yes, guests may use WI-FI service in the common areas, free of charge.

Restaurant F.A.Q.

Is your Restaurant always open?
The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays; on other days the restaurant is open for lunch from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. and for dinner from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.

We are vegetarians; do you have items on the menu for us?
Yes, we have many delicious choices based on vegetables and/or cheese.

What is the schedule for breakfast service?
Breakfast service begins at 8:00 and ends at 10:00 a.m.; for late sleepers, an Italian-style breakfast is served at the bar until 11:30 a.m.

Is it possible to make breakfast with gluten-free products?
Yes, please let us know before your arrival.

What is the closest Airport to Volterra?
The “Galileo Galilei” Airport in Pisa is located approximately 55 km from Volterra; Hotel Molino D’Era is located on the road that connects Pisa to Volterra.

What is there to see in Volterra?
Volterra is an Etruscan city with more than 2000 years of history (Etruscan Museum –Etruscan Port and so on). We will be happy to provide additional information at the time of your arrival.

Are there cities and places to visit nearby?
Volterra is the ideal place for visiting the most beautiful cities of Tuscany – the distance to San Gimignano is 25 Km, Siena is 60 Km, Pisa 57 Km, Florence 70 Km and the coast is just 40 Km away.

Is it possible to use public transportation?
Buses connect Volterra with Pontedera (the closest railway station), Pisa, Siena and Florence; it is recommended to use your own car to fully enjoy the landscape and to move about on roads with less traffic.
